Tour Overview
An exciting 12-day safari in which we will visit four of Kenya's most famous game parks - Samburu National Reserve, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Nakuru National Park, and the famed Masai Mara National Reserve. Highlights include a visit to Nairobi's elephant orphanage and Giraffe Center, views of Mount Kenya (weather permitting), Jane Goodall's chimpanzee sanctuary, the flamingos and endangered white rhinos of Lake Nakuru, northern wildlife species unique to Samburu, and the vast open plains of the Masai Mara. There will be sightings of lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, cape buffalo, warthogs, and if we're lucky, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and many more wildlife species. A visit to a Masai Village is included.

Begin your adventure with a full day in Kenya's vibrant capital. Visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to meet rescued baby elephants and learn about their rehabilitation. Next, head to the Giraffe Centre to feed endangered Rothschild's giraffes and gain insight into their conservation. Enjoy lunch in the leafy suburb of Karen before visiting Kazuri Beads, where local women craft beautiful handmade jewelry.

On Day 2, travel to the rugged Samburu National Reserve, located in Kenya's arid north. Enjoy your first game drive, spotting unique wildlife particular to this region and look for the "Special Five"-Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. End the day with a "sundowner" while soaking in the golden hour as night approaches.
On Days 3 and 4 continue exploring the unique landscape of rocky outcrops, riverine forests, and open plains while watching for predators like lions and leopards stalking their prey.
Optionally, visit a Samburu village to learn about the culture and traditions of this semi-nomadic community.

On Day 5, travel four hours from Samburu to the renowned Ol Pejeta Conservancy, known for its incredible wildlife conservation efforts. Here you'll encounter abundant wildlife including lions, elephants, and the last northern white rhinos. Visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary founded by Jane Goodall before settling in for a tranquil evening under the stars.
Spend Day 6 with game drives and visits to conservation sites, surrounded by stunning landscapes. Keep your eyes peeled for Mount Kenya to make an appearance from behind the clouds. Consider other activities such as walking safaris and night-time game drives (not included).

Depart Ol Pejeta Conservancy and journey four hours into the Great Rift Valley to the scenic Lake Nakuru National Park. Here you will see thriving birdlife, including flamingos and pelicans, that call this alkaline lake home. Enjoy an afternoon game drive to spot the southern white rhinos, Rothschild's giraffes, and other wildlife. Spend the night surrounded by the park's serene beauty.

On Day 8, begin your day with a scenic six-hour drive from Lake Nakuru to the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. Along the way, enjoy the stunning views of the Great Rift Valley and the surrounding landscapes. After arrival, enjoy the afternoon exploring the reserve's rich biodiversity. Look out for iconic wildlife, including lions, elephants, and cheetahs, as you experience the magic of the Mara's savannah at sunset.
On Days 9 through 11, immerse yourself in three full days of thrilling safari adventures within the Masai Mara. Witness the reserve's "Big Five" and the annual Great Migration (seasonal). Visit a local Maasai village to learn about their unique traditions and way of life. Consider other activities, such as a hot air balloon ride at sunrise (not included). Each evening, return to your comfortable lodge or tented camp to relax, enjoy delicious meals, and share stories of the day's adventures.

After breakfast at our hotel, we will catch a short flight back to Nairobi, where we will have some time to explore on our last tour day. We will enjoy a farewell dinner at Carnivore Restaurant, before heading to the airport for your return flight home.
